Daniel Bruckner – $206 Million Lottery Winners Stories
It was the end of December and you were probably dreaming of winning that huge Mega Millions Jackpot. The Jackpot kept rolling over and getting bigger and bigger throughout the month until bang it hot on December 27th. So you had a ticket some hope and a dream.
Then on December 28th, you woke to the news that the winning ticket was purchased on Long Island. Unless you actually lived on Long Island and hadn't checked your tickets yet, you were probably heartbroken by the news. Oh well, there's always next time.
But one person who wasn't heartbroken was a man named Daniel Bruckner. That's because he's the guy that won. Yep, the $206 Million Mega Millions jackpot is his! OK, he doesn't actually live in Long Island, but he grew up there. He also still has family there and was visiting them during the Christmas holidays.
"I went to the King Kullen store I normally go to when we're on Long Island visiting family and friends," Daniel said. "I picked up food for dinner and saw how big the jackpot was so I decided to buy a ticket."
Daniel Bruckner Bruckner didn't have much to say about his $206 million win, except that it felt surreal. Yep, that happens to new lottery winners! “We have no idea what the future holds for us,” Dan Bruckner, 35, said.
At the time of his win Daniel Bruckner was working as a financial analyst, and living in San Jose, California. I wonder if anybody ever told this financial analyst that buying a lottery ticket isn't a good investment. What do you think he'd have to say about that?
